The mouse was first made in 1963 by Douglas Engelbart using wood with one button. Douglas was a researcher who came from the Stanford Research Institute. Initially, a special laboratory named Augmentation Research Center (ARC) was founded by Douglas Engelbart at the research site of the Stanford Research Institute. The idea of a computer mouse first appeared in Douglas's brain as he attended the Graphics Computer conference. At that time, the cursor on the computer screen was considered as a bug. So, he thought hoe the bug could be utilized.

Experiments continued to be done by Douglas by using various models of objects. The first attempt used a wood-based object with one button. The second model was equipped with 3 buttons where the iron as the base material and the wheel drive used aluminum.  In 1970, Douglas Engelbart introduced the Mouse that can tell X-Y position on the computer screen. This mouse was known as X-Y Position Indicator. Finally, first mouse computer by Douglas successfully created but still looks like a box where the long cable was connected to the box.

In the end, the cable was in front of the mouse. This is a computer mouse model that is now widely used. The patent was later submitted by Douglas Engelbart upon his discovery in 1967. Because of Douglas Engelbart service in the computer world, he was awarded by the National Medal of Technology and awarded by President Bill Clinton. The inventor of the computer mouse, Douglas Engelbart died at the age of 88 on July 22, 2013. Now, the mouse technology from time to time continues to grow rapidly to date.
