Christopher Invented Typewriter and QWERTY Keyboard
The typewriter and QWERTY keyboard were invented by Christopher Sholes. Christopher Sholes was a genius who was born on February 14, 1819 and died on February 17, 1890. Typewriter or keyboard is one of the most important parts of computers nowadays. The definition of the keyboard itself is a computer input tool that has a variety of buttons, function, or command.

Christopher Latham Sholes was born in Mooresburg, Pennsylvania, United States. In 1867, Christopher Latham Sholes has successfully created a typewriter and managed to develop it into a typewriter or QWERTY keyboard in 1873. He created QWERTY keyboard instead of alphabetical letters because at that time Christopher Latham Sholes encountered a problem that when the button was often pressed, the stems of letters or slug tampered the band which became a mechanical failure.
The History of QWERTY Keyboard
At the time, the Christopher Latham Sholes’s business partner, Ames Densmore advised Sholes that he had to find a combination of other letters to resolve the issue or the problem. Sholes was confused to think the solution. Finally, Sholes just arranged the letters on keyboard randomly. As the result, appearing the difficult combination of typing activities with a sequence of QWERTY on a typewriter or keyboard.
In the end, the arrangement was inherited to the keyboard as a computer input. In 1973, QWERTY keyboard was inaugurated as a standard ISO keyboard (International Standard Organization). Talking about the discovery, Christopher Latham Sholes had a rival named Dr. August Dvorak. In 1940, Dr. August Dvorak had arrangement letters more efficiently for typing than the QWERTY keyboard. So, the invention of Dr. August Dvorak became an alternative version in 1970.
Until now, the QWERTY keyboard is still used by all people. Christopher Latham Sholes later is known as the inventor of the keyboard and as one of the most important discoveries in the world.
